Davy enjoyed a career of over 12 years in professional rugby before exploring a new career in education. During Davy's rugby playing career he set up a bespoke gym design company called ERA-FIT Ltd which has been a growing success delivering full gym installations to some of the largest independent gyms across the UK.

Away from work and business, growing up in rural Ireland, Davy was heavily involved in animal conservation and had a great interest in exploring the countryside. Davy's passion for education, business and the outdoors has led to the creation of Moor to Life. The aim of Moor To Life is to offer a different approach to education and incorporate the amazing wellbeing benefits of exploring nature and the countryside.

Davy has always enjoyed the team experience in rugby and seen first-hand how a positive and highly motivating environment can transform some individuals into much more confident and ambitious people. This was evident in his role as Operations manger in a SEMH school where he developed an enterprise division for students who wished to pursue an interest into an enterprise.

The strong family values instilled in Davy whilst growing up in Ireland has been the blueprint when working with people from all walks of life. Davy's role as Safeguarding Lead in the last setting was a invaluable opportunity to understand some of the significant challenges people, in particular children, are faced with daily.

Davy has a very ambitious vision for Moor to Life and believes that people should never stop achieving. With Moor to Life, Davy wishes to offer people the opportunity to see there is much more to life and inspire them to become the best version of themselves which the ethos is simply echoed in the company name “Moor to Life”

Darren Clarke

Founder / Operations Director

Darren has 30 years experience in Adventure, Expeditions and Training with a blend of exposure to Commercial, Charitable and Operational roles.

Darren started his career with 14 years in the British Army where he served as a Commando Engineer, participating, organising and leading operations and tasks worldwide often in challenging environments. He also had spells as part of the All arms commando course training team and as an instructor at the Joint Service Military Diving School.

On leaving the forces Darren taught at Plymouth Universities Diving and Marine centre before moving to South Africa where he set up an adventure travel business specialising in” off the beaten track” expeditions. Darren in now back in the UK and is a Diving Supervsior for Plymouth University.

He also founded and served as CEO of The Goodsport Trust a charity specialising in delivering training and education to schools and coaches in townships allowing them to deliver world class physical education and activity programmes to their respective communities. The charity is also the operating partner for the Born To Be Elite program which is headed by Olympians, Justin Gatlin and Sharrieffa Barksdale.

He has served as CEO of the Athlete Development Centre and was the co-founder and director of the Western Province Rugby Academy which is an extremely successful blend of a full time high performance and education programme.

His passion remains Adventure and has organised and participated in many expeditions, adventure races and challenges including being the first person to run 3000km’s across Africa raising awareness for Water scarcity and Elephants, wild camping and following Elephant migration routes from the North west of Namibia to Mozambique.
