Kitley
Kitchen Garden
One of the most exciting inclusion projects we have is to rejuvenate Kitley's kitchen garden project and create qualifications in horticulture, permaculture with artisian skills. These historic gardens once serviced the entirety of the estate but have been untouched for the past 30 years. In that time mother nature had taken its course and only a few fruit trees remained.

Walled kitchen gardens like the one at Kitley are an important part of our history, yet are now largely neglected and little understood. For centuries, most large country houses had a walled kitchen garden. They were highly productive places, supplying food, herbs and flowers for the family, staff and guests of the big house.

We have created a number of sustainable gardening focused projects that will be invested into the garden project and create a working enterprise. We aim to sell the produce to the local community and provide residents on the estate with organically grown goodness.
